Attraction factor

Most of the people ask us which stadium we prefered during our tour of all 30 MLB ballparks last summer. After a lot of thinking, we finally stopped our choices on PETCO Park and Orioles Park at Camden Yards. Those two ballparks have been for us the best experiences of our trip when we think about different factors: location, ambience, architecture, etc.

The main objective of the trip for us was not to find the greatest ballpark of the major leagye. Our goal was to find what was making every ballpark special for the public and which mistakes have been made during the construction. All of this to make sure, when major baseball will come back to Montreal, that we could take example from the great ballparks (a lot of recent stadium have been inspired from the Orioles Park) and to make sure we don’t repeat mistakes.

Also, people frequently ask us which stadiums where the worst. Like many, our choices were the Tropicana Field and the O.co Coliseum for reasons everyone knows. But oddly, it is during the visit of these two ballparks that we had some great experices and that we met with awesome fans. This is why we had the idea of creating this list in which we found one thing that makes each stadium unique. We found different categories for this purpose and we are convinced that every ballpark can offer a unique experience to every fan.

*There is no particular order for the list, it is the order that we visited the ballparks. Also, at the end of the page we put the list without the pictures and video!*

  1. Tres beau montage videos/photos.

  2. Fluor Field in Greenville, SC is modeled after Fenway Park. It has the exact same dimensions as well as a Pesky’s Pole and Green Monster with a manually operated scoreboard.
It also has a 5-story building in the outfield like Oriole Park at Camden Yards. I have witnessed one home run ball land on that roof.
